Illegal immigration is another area where the true racist and misogynistic tendencies of Liberals/Leftists appear. They have turned a blind eye to things like human trafficking as well as other extremely harmful aspects of illegal immigration, not only to our own economy, but to the people coming here illegally themselves.

Instead, they are currently more concerned with demonizing the state of Arizona and it’s new illegal immigration law than they are concerned with protecting the rights of citizens. They’ve also proven that they care not one whit about the people coming here illegally. They aren’t human beings to them; they are merely political pawns and cheap labor.

For instance, the feminist sites are up in arms over Arizona’s new law. Naturally, they do not understand the law in the slightest; most have not even read it, I’m sure. That doesn’t stop them from opening their mouths and proving their foolishness, though, as always. Take this article at Feministe, for example, full of hysterical screeching prior to the bill’s passage:

In Arizona, the legislature looks set to pass a truly terrifying anti-immigration bill that would, among other thing, allow police to arrest undocumented immigrants on the charge of trespassing simply for being in the state.

Um. Isn’t that what being illegal means? That you are not in the state legally? Feministing (I know. Can’t they come up with more original names?) had this to say, after the bill’s passage:

I attended this vigil on Saturday night in DC to protest the Arizona anti-immigrant legislation and stand in solidarity with the people of Arizona.

Apparently, she doesn’t understand what standing in solidarity means, as 70% of Arizonians approve of the bill (as do close to 60% of the American people as a whole). Nor does she understand the English language. The bill aims to fix the problem of illegal immigration. It’s not anti-immigration itself. As usual, the truth doesn’t matter to the left. The rest of the article goes on to demonize Arizona further, mentioning ways to take “action against the legislation.”

What isn’t mentioned ever? Concern for The Children ™ who are suffering due to strained medical and educational resources. Concern for our own minority and lower income communities who are losing jobs or are earning lower incomes due to the cheap labor in the form of illegal immigration. Apparently, having their lawns manicured and their tables bussed cheaply means more to the left than the human beings providing such services. Why have legal immigrants when you can have illegal ones as figurative slaves, huh, left?

Nor do they show concern For the Women, who are brought here, smuggled in illegally, as slaves. This time, I mean that literally.

Colonel Randy Powers with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department said Caballero was one of four men inside the home holding a female against her will. He says all four men are in the U.S. illegally. He didn’t reveal the age of the victim, but also said she is not from the U.S. “We have good reason to believe she was being forced to have sex with patrons that were coming in,” says Powers when explaining the abuses the victim suffered.

Human trafficking and the exploitation of women is a direct result of condoning and allowing wide open borders and massive illegal immigration. And the left doesn’t care. What’s a little enslavement and forced prostitution if it gets us some cheap labor and more bodies at the ballot box? Because that’s what they are to them. Just bodies. Super oppressed pawns, used to their own political means. Like the woman in the story above, many females smuggled in illegally are being prostituted twice. Once at the hands of their human traffickers and a second time at the hands of the left.

I am pro-immigration. I welcome all who strive for a better life for themselves and for their children. Who are willing to come here, obey our laws, work hard and embrace freedom. Legally.

I also believe in human dignity and the sanctity of life. As such, unlike the left, I recognize illegal immigration for what it is:

The new slavery.

I am pro-immigration. I welcome all who understand and approve of what the founders of this nation accomplished with the creation of the United States of America Constitution, strive for a better life for themselves and for their children. Who are willing to come here, obey our laws, work hard and embrace freedom. Legally.

Many who come here do not love the ideal of America, only what America gives them with no understanding of why America can offer this to them. Those of this sort I do not welcome.

While it is required to take a test to become a citizen, the test is not really in depth of determining if they understand why America can offer so much to her citizens and even those around the world we have enough bounty to help beyond our borders. I think a real test should be given just for the application to get started on the path to citizenship, a test that for certain one United States president would fail supremely.

That's what I meant by embracing freedom

Lori Ziganto Wednesday, May 12th at 5:58PM EDT (link)

Freedom sometimes entails failure and hardship. Freedom isn’t fair or perfect or some sort of utopian dream of unicorns and rainbows and free candy. Nor is it supposed to be. Freedom provides equal opportunity, but not automatic equal results.

Also known as SnarkandBoobs

But, that is exactly why freedom is fair!

davesinsanantonio Thursday, May 13th at 6:03AM EDT (link)

You get to choose which dreams yuu embrace and which rainbows you want to chase. True,, the candy is not free, but you can dream of it. The only stipulation is that you do not try to make it “free” by stealing it, because then you are infringing on the freedom on another. You are free to fail as well as free to succeed. If you look at history, most successful people were failures more than once. Even Washington lost more battles than he won, And, Edison is famous for his failures and his celebration of them.

What Terrifies Liberals

crosley Wednesday, May 12th at 5:40PM EDT (link)

…is a mass exodus of illegals back home. They see the writing on the wall, and it’s clear Americans are rejecting the open borders message. The fringe element of society are those that DON’T want our laws enforced.

If 20 million illegal immigrants are made American citizens, the Democrats will control this country for several generations. That’s what all this hysteria is about, the dream is slipping through their fingers.

Illegal immigrants come here for a better of life. If laws are passed and enforced to deny them that, they will leave with a strategy of attrition. They also won’t come in droves if we have real border enforcement.

If you can effectively seal the border (easily done), pass sanctions against employers that hire illegal aliens, and deny them all public benefits, you’ve taken care of about 90% of the problem. The rest will take care of itself.

Not to mention...

seattle_ite Thursday, May 13th at 8:07AM EDT (link)

…why are we no holding Mecico’s feet to the fire, on this issue?

Senor Calderon thinks that we Americans are violating ‘Human Rights’, by enforcing our border laws as stringently as the Mexican (or any other) governments do. If he was so concerned with the ‘rights’ of the downtrodden, wouldn’t he be better served by FIXING HIS OWN SYSTEM, so that his people wouldn’t have to come to the U.S.A for a better life?????

If the shoe were on the other foot

bassethound Thursday, May 13th at 1:59PM EDT (link)

If these 20 million illegals were pro-life, tea party Republicans, all those “social justice” types would be tripping over themselves in order to build a wall and keep them out.

I don't think liberals are concerned about their lawns...

Mark D Wednesday, May 12th at 6:10PM EDT (link)

so much as they are concerned that they will lose a huge voting block should amnesty become the order of the day. They’re hoping that the illegals will, upon receiving citizenship, shuffle up to the voting booths and blindly vote Democrat.

You know you’ve reached rock bottom when you’re told you have character flaws by a man who hanged his predecessor in a military coup.

Hispanics as a voting bloc .. just not happening.

acat Wednesday, May 12th at 7:04PM EDT (link)

And yet, both the Repubs and the Dems are acting as though it’s so.

Insane. Just insane.

The first side that recognizes immigrants are individuals, and generates a message appealing to the individual will win. Not a bloc, but a group of individuals.

Mew

Why is it more or less likely to happen than middle class Blacks

Achance Wednesday, May 12th at 7:14PM EDT (link)

voting as a bloc against their own individual interests. There are LOTS and LOTS of Blacks making over $50K and it is in nobody’s interest who makes that much or more to ever vote for a Democrat, yet they do in droves (I’ll make an exception for the people who are so rich that the money doesn’t matter; they vote Democrat for ego reasons.”

So far, minorities in America have followed leaders and watched parking meters, don’t see it changing any time soon. And if you want really pursue that, look at the ultimate minority, the defeated South after the Civil War. There should have been a revolution in The South by the ’90s and they should have killed the ruling class there, but the ruling class could just play the poor Whites against the poor Blacks endlessly and they both screwed themselves into a century of penury by being dumb enough to go along with it.

In Vino Veritas

Achance, surely you gest

acat Wednesday, May 12th at 11:49PM EDT (link)

Japanese-Americans aren’t a bloc, and Pakistani-Americans don’t seem to be a bloc either. Chinese-Americans and Thai-Americans and Vietnamese-Americans aren’t blocs. Not sure about the Native American Alaskans… you’re in a better place than I to estimate that.

Going back further, Irish-Americans, Italian-Americans, German-Americans - all faced some resistance at first, but are no longer blocs.

Yes, the African-American experience has been different, and the results have been as well. I’m not sure why, or what it’ll take to change, but .. my sense is that it is changing, just slowly.

Mew

Nor do I jest, acat.

Achance Thursday, May 13th at 4:57AM EDT (link)

All those earlier immigrant groups were given no special status. Nor were Blacks who lived outside The South. But from the 1950s, Blacks and the groups who have come along after them, notably Hispanics, have had “special” status, which has made them “special” and hopelessly dependent on government.

In Vino Veritas

Even if those groups you mentioned were 90% blocs

blooch Thursday, May 13th at 10:21AM EDT (link)

one way or the other, they don’t matter to either party like black or Hispanic blocs. They’re just too small. I disagree with you about the Chinese-Americans not voting as a bloc, too. I believe, based on anecdotal experiences, that they are 80-90% Democrat voters.

All of the groups you mentioned, and probably all recent immigrant groups, have learned to work the system via grievance groups and Government Program navigators. They found out fast that, for them, it’s not so much about voting strength, but more about working the bureaucracies and entitlement programs to get the loot. If this means voting Democrat to keep the spigot turned on they’ll do that, too, but I can tell you from experience that one of the first things that new immigrants are taught in their communities is where the “Free Stuff” taps are located, and everybody knows which party has a proven history of delivering the most stuff.

I have witnessed the spectacle of an older, more entrenched immigrant group leading anothe newer group to the trough. Both groups came from countries where dependence on authoritarian governments was a fact of life, and they brought that mindset lock, stock and barrel to the U. S. The positive reinforcement for this behavior that they get from pandering politicians and bureaucratic salesmen fosters a cycle that is hard to break.

I think the issue with middle class blacks

Leopard1996 Thursday, May 13th at 7:59AM EDT (link)

Is that there has been a poor job on the part of the GOP and conservatives to show effectively how their philosophies and policies would actually help them . A majority of that I do blame on the media, but to a small extent the GOP does tend to just ignore the black issue outright instead of tackling it head on. Sites like this one do a good job, but the folks here and in the rest of the blogosphere just doesn’t get outside of that circle.

“The accumluated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout, “Save Us!”….and I’ll look down and whisper, “No”…The Watchmen

acat- If you include the illegals

Scope Wednesday, May 12th at 7:58PM EDT (link)

in the hispanic voting block, for the Democrats, it is a major voting block. Hell, for the O, if he can take donations from Mickey Mouse, and it is considered a valid donation, then his favored ACORN type organizations will register illegals. Aren’t their many many voting districts that only require a utility bill for proof of residence? Haven’t there been many dead people that have registered/voted? Do you think that the Democrats really want an Illegal Immigration reform bill, or to close the borders? NO They have many to tap, legal or not.

Volunteering for Servitude

Vannek Wednesday, May 12th at 6:26PM EDT (link)

That so many people are volunteering for servitude and lining up to be trafficked (even paying for it) is what appalls me. The psychology behind that would be fascinating.

It's a simple thing.

phxg Wednesday, May 12th at 10:34PM EDT (link)

Poverty, corruption and a built-in inability to improve ones life is their way of life. These people are so desperate they will accept offers we would find appalling if for nothing more than because even servitude is an improvement to what they currently have.

And look deep inside yourself and see if you too would not do the exact same thing if that was your only option available. And since the cost is considerably higher, and longer for the legal method, it’s a gamble they take: Trust the coyote for ~$5K and get to America or pay ~$12K and get turned down by either nations.

On the other hand, it also depends on which method you choose to cross. If you end up with the drug cartel coyotes, which costs less, you get to lug 25# of drugs on your back. If you find a reputable coyote, you walk for 15 miles and have a bus waiting. You can feed your family or you can stay in Mexico, what do you do?

This is the underlying problem with attrition through enforcement

cabanon Thursday, May 13th at 12:16AM EDT (link)

You have to make it worse here for illegals than it is for them in Mexico and Mexico is quite frankly a hell hole.

There was an interesting find in PHX a while back

phxg Wednesday, May 12th at 10:44PM EDT (link)

In 2008 there was a drop house discovered in West Phoenix, Maryvale for those in the know. It was targeted by the Phoenix PD kidnapping task force as a possible location where a victim was being held.

Upon entering the house they found in the bathroom a 4×4 foot by 6 foot deep hole in the floor. Because most homes here are built upon a solid cement slab this was highly unusual. After interrogation of the kidnappers, who incidentally were not of the drug cartel variety it was learned that the plan was to get as much of the ransom as possible, kill or bury alive the victim and cement the hole, repairing the floor as though nothing was ever awry.

There are good coyotes out there and I have heard that the ‘reputable’ ones are not harassed, much. Which seems like a tacit acceptance of their activities; which in deed appears to be the policy Washington is taking. But like everything illegal, criminals are attracted and thats the problem.

Tall fence, wide gate. America is a great place, but it’s gotta be legal.

DEPORT OR ABORT

lynnbo Thursday, May 13th at 10:56AM EDT (link)

Sad but Dems new campaign ad should state

We would rather abort millions of unborn Americans everyyear than deport a few thousand illegal criminals !

Vote for ABORT VS DEPORT!!!!

Twisted logic once again, especailly coming from the black community claiming Arizona is racists while they destroy millions of unborn blacks or potentially great citizens. They would rather have the law breakers

Consider the source.

dwscho Thursday, May 13th at 11:35AM EDT (link)

Many of the liberals and the politicians who represent them come form states with big agricultural interests, eg. California, who rely upon the cheap labor furnished by illegal immigrants. IMHO many of these businesses don’t want to stop the flow of illegal immigrants because they would then find it necessary to pay a “living wage” to get Americans to work for them. I think economics is a huge factor in this debate which certainly supports the title of your article. However, the costs on society are many times the savings realized by these businesses and we should continue to resist this indirect subsidy and fight to close off illegal immigration.
