48% See The Federal Government As A Threat To Their Rights

from Rebellion:

48% See Government Today As A Threat to Individual Rights

When the Reichstag Congress passed the Patriot Act, I wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper denouncing it. It was rejected. When I called to find out why, the editor guffawed that "it's an extremist position that the US government is a bigger threat to our liberty than Al-Qaeda."

Chalk up yet another League of the South "extremist" position to go mainstream:

Nearly half of American Adults see the government today as a threat to individual rights rather than a protector of those rights.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Adults see the government today as a threat to rights.

Let's see -- clear majorities now reject the Neocon Wars, States' Rights has roared back into the marketplace of ideas, and secession is openly discussed.

As Gandhi once said, "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
