Gov. Mitch Daniels Says He Did in Indiana what Gov. Scott Walker is Doing in Wisconsin – “Six Years Ago” – Video 2/24/11

Here is video of Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels today on with Neil Cavuto where he tried to answer critics of his decision not to support Republicans in the Indiana State Legislature who wanted to push right-to-work legislation there. Daniels wanted it taken off the table because he said he was “afraid” it would endanger his entire legislative agenda.




Daniels did explain that the measure in question would have pushed for “private sector” right-to-work legislation – not the same as what Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is attempting to do in limiting public sector collective bargaining. Daniels explained that what Scott Walker is trying to do – “I did that six years ago.” He said that in 2005 Indiana ended public sector collective bargaining which has been “invaluable” in balancing the state’s budget.



Daniels has been criticized by Mark Levin and others for not backing the right-to-work legislation at a time when conservatives are gaining momentum as a result of the strong stand by Walker in Wisconsin.
