How about Tapping Our NON-Strategic Oil Reserves?

From Floyd Reports:

How About Tapping Our NON-Strategic Oil Reserves?

The sharp rise in the pump price of gasoline may finally give us a clearer picture of the meaning of “hope and change.” It is abundantly obvious that Obama’s energy policy is to sit back, do nothing and “hope for change.”

In spite of our terrible energy shortages, we can’t drill anywhere and we can’t mine coal anywhere. Obama even told the fools who voted for him this while campaigning. In January 2008, when there was still plenty of time to stop him, Obama said, “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it [my Cap and Trade plan] will bankrupt [you].”

When just folding their arms and saying “No” becomes too much for even Obama’s media lackeys to take from his administration spokespeople, lying into cameras becomes a favorite tactic to make embarrassing questions go away. Last week produced such an episode.

After numerous questions about why we can’t start drilling in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to help us get out of the web OPEC has spun around our economy, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar dust off a stock answer which has the net result of saying, “Shut up and go away. You have some nerve even asking that question.”[2] Salazar said, “We don’t believe that you need to drill everywhere and we don’t believe that the ‘drill, baby, drill’ program is the way that’s going to get us to the energy independence.”

He went on to lie about Obama believing we need “a robust energy program that includes a number of different sources.” He closed his lies by saying Obama supports nuclear energy and of course “renewable energy” which is a slippery term the media uses to clean up whatever energy lies Democrats get caught telling.

Obama Considering the Strategic Oil Reserve

Obama is now allowing one of his liars to float the idea of using our strategic oil reserves to “ease the crunch at the pump” as the oft-revived phrase has it. The Democrat-controlled media loves this talk, but the liberal Democrats themselves love it even more.

The media love it because it takes the pressure off them to actually ask serious questions about Obama’s nonexistent energy policy. That using our oil reserves for day to day purposes is akin to eating our seed corn never finds its way into their stories.

The elected Democrats love this idea because it weakens the American military which they see as a mortal enemy.

Neither will point out that the reserve in question is only 727 million barrels of oil which would provide only about a month’s worth of the nation’s oil demands and leave the military stripped of its ability to fight to save our lives. Why should they? They’re liberals, so no one ever asks them anything.

The Obama administration lies to our faces and the media covers it up.
