Dayton's Disgraced

From The American Thinker:

March 15, 2011

Dayton's disgrace

Russ Vaughn

In just one more display of how inept our federal Justice Department has become under Eric Holder, we are now witnessing a municipal police department, that of Dayton, Ohio, being compelled by that self-same, all-too politically correct, federal Justice Department into lowering testing standards because blacks can't pass police department admissions tests.

The passing score is going to be lowered to the equivalent of an F so that previously-failing, black applicants can qualify. Is this the same kind of thinking that made America great or is it what made Detroit the financial and political melt-down it now is?

How about instead of the federal Justice Department getting involved in municipal police standards we have an intervention by the do-nothing federal Department of Education upon which we taxpayers lavish billions of dollars? Surely with all that money those experts can figure out why blacks in Dayton can't seem to come up to minimum standards that are already artificially low to accommodate them and take the necessary remedial steps.

But then I don't live in Dayton, although I have been there many times on business, so, I don't really have a dog in this fight. What I do have is a keen interest in is the federal stupidity that propagates such incredibly dangerous programs where citizens' lives in Dayton are put at risk to serve the mindless, liberal desires of a bunch of politically correct bureaucrats in Washington. That kind of federal idiocy threatens all of us.

Were I a citizen of Dayton, I would be screaming all to hell that you can't put my life and the lives of my loved ones at risk to satisfy some frustrated sense of equality in your fevered liberal brains. I'd be loudly proclaiming that my tax dollars should be buying me more security and peace of mind in those essential moments when quick thinking and remembered training are required. Nope, at minimum a C-student should be the required grade for acceptance.

For crying out loud, Liberal America, can't you at least meet that minimal standard after all these years? If not, you are clearly a disgrace.
