2010 Census Data: Population Shifts Suggest Continued Bad News for Dems

The 2010 Census data may prove to be a final verdict on the undeniable failure of the all-too-lengthy liberal experiment, because Americans are fleeing traditional Democrat strongholds like Tokyo residents from Godzilla:



WASHINGTON – The 2010 census report coming out Tuesday will include a boatload of good political news for Republicans and grim data for Democrats hoping to re-elect President Barack Obama and rebound from last month’s devastating elections.



The population continues to shift from Democratic-leaning Rust Belt states to Republican-leaning Sun Belt states, a trend the Census Bureau will detail in its once-a-decade report to the president. Political clout shifts, too, because the nation must reapportion the 435 House districts to make them roughly equal in population, based on the latest census figures.

Texas had the biggest gain and is expected to pick up four more House seats as a result. New York and Ohio were the biggest losers.



Combine this with last month’s elections that turned many state legislatures “red” — the same legislatures that will re-draw district maps — and there hasn’t been worse news for Democrats since The West Wing was canceled.



In the big picture, there are two ways Democrats can deal with this: Admit that their tax-happy, regulation-loving, economically incompetent, union favoring, public sector nurturing, debt ridden, sharp edges rounded off, politically correct, smoke free, salt free, fat free, logic-free social experiments have been colossal disasters — or they can continue to try to nationalize every aspect of America and pursue the extinction of greener pastures as fast as possible so people have nowhere to escape. **Which will it be?
