Eric Holder / Department of Justice threatening to sue Sheriff Joe Arpaio
When asked earlier this morning about the New York City Mosque conflict at Ground Zero, Robert Gibbs responded that the Obama regime doesn’t want to get involved with “local” issues. I guess Gibbs didn’t get the memo of what the Obama regime has done against Arizona. Now, you can add a threat of a lawsuit against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. According to the AP:
The Justice Department says an Arizona sheriff known for his efforts against illegal immigrants has refused to cooperate with a civil rights investigation and the department is threatening to sue.
Since March 2009, the U.S. Justice Department has been investigating Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s office in Phoenix for alleged discrimination and for unconstitutional searches and seizures. Arpaio says the inquiry is focused on his immigration efforts.
